7 habits to adopt when writing blog articles

Blog articles are little pills of information that any business should offer on its website. They prove their effectiveness in building SEO, building a brand and gaining the trust of readers.

To be effective, however, blog articles must follow a series of rules, which are good to turn into real habits for those who frequently write such articles.

Habits to adopt when writing blog articles

  1. Start any article with keyword research. One of the main purposes of articles is to attract visitors from Google. For that, you need to know what your potential visitors are looking for. Use a keyword analysis tool and find the ones with the most searches and the least competition! The words you found must be inserted into the text in the most natural way possible.

  2. Pay maximum attention to the title! The title should be attractive and arouse curiosity. The CTR (Organic Click-Through rate – the number of clicks your article receives in Google) has a major impact on its positioning in searches.

  3. Use as many internal links as possible! Internal links are important because they can send visitors to other important articles or products on your site. Use at least one internal link in every article you write.

  4. Don't forget the pictures! The visual part is important, both for readers and for Google. Enrich any text with images and it will become much more interesting for readers. If you optimise your images correctly (right sizes, right title, right description, right Alt title), they can be an important source of traffic from Google. Obviously, you have to be very careful about the copyright of the images, but there are a lot of websites where you can discover entire libraries 100% free.

  5. Add a meta description to the article! Meta description is an HTML meta tag that can be added to any page. This is a small summary of the article, which is picked up by search engines to display in search results. Overall, the quality of the meta description plays a huge role in the reader's decision to enter a page, making this step essential. A good meta description should contain your focus keywords and be no more than 155-160 characters.

  6. Make the articles as easy to read as possible. Headings, subheadings, bullet points, short and comprehensive catchphrases can all help make an article easier to read and influence the results it delivers.

  7. Use tags and categories to better organise your content. Tags and categories help you organize your content both for you and for readers and search engines. Think of your website as a book that needs a table of content so that it can be navigated more easily.

It is not exactly easy to write blog articles. Many times, you can have ideas, but when you have to put them down on the keyboard, you can lack inspiration. But over time, if you create healthy habits, you will end up writing more and better. Obviously, there is always the option of a professional content writer.
